The Antiquity Finishes evoke the character and wear of generations of use, achieved through a meticulous 16-step studio process. Each piece undergoes scraping, distressing, and sanding to mimic the patina of age. Glazing and hand burnishing accentuate the distress marks and the wood's natural beauty. All Antiquity finishes are sealed with a catalyzed coating and hand-waxed. Notably, there are two levels of distressing in the Antiquity Stains. Any finish can be chosen at Level 1 or 2. At Level 2, the antiquity is enhanced with simulated cracks, worn edges, tear outs, gouges, dings, wormholes, and non-physical distressing within the finish layers.
